Kisan Ka Lagi Unnat Biubijan Karyakram (KUBK) is an IFAD funded project implemented by the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MoAD). The program is implemented in the four Mid-western districts namely: Rukum, Rolpa, Salyan and Pyuthan; and two districts of Western Region namely: Gulmi and Argakhanchi. The MoAD has established Program Management Office stationed at Tilottama Municipality, Rupandehi for effective implementation of the program.

In this project Sana Kisan Bikas Bank Ltd (SKBBL) and Nepal Agriculture Cooperative Central Federation Limited (NACCFL) has signed an agreement with the MoAD to implement part of the third component: Local Entrepreneurship and Institutional Development. The major role of SKBBL/NACCFL is to provide access to finance to18000 households in the six program districts. Thirty Small Farmer Agriculture Cooperatives (five in each district) are established. To achieve the afore-mentioned goal, forty-five additional SFACLs will be established until the project period. Out of forty-five SFACLs, Thirty will be established in Gulmi, Arghakhanchi and Pyuthan district (ten in each district) and fifteen will be in Rolpa, Salyan and Rukum (five in each district). Out of the additional forty-five SFACLs to be established, twenty five will be established in this fiscal year and remaining twenty in the coming. From the gender perspective there is a provision to include at least 60% of the members as women while establishing the cooperatives.

Out of the thirty SFACLs established, all are registered in the concerned Division Cooperative Office, thirty SFACLs has been already handover to the community. Until the reporting period KUBK program is successful in providing access to finance to 16,020 household through SFACLs established by NACCFL/SFDB. In these SFACLs almost 975 (15,525) of the members are women, 26% (4321) are dalit, 21% (3431 are Janajatis and remaining 53% represents other communities. These SFACLs are able to mobilize resources in the form of saving collection to the amount of NPR 101 Million to 7695 (95% of target) borrower.
